JOT DOWN
- Phrasal verb used to say that you will quickly write something down in order to remember it.
- It is considered to be less formal that saying I will write that down, but it commonly used.
- Can you just jot down the address for me and I’ll put it into my GPS?
- Please give me a moment while I jot down your name and number.
- This phrasal verb is separable. This means that it is a transitive verb that needs a direct object. Learn more here.
- I know I have the information because I jotted it down yesterday while I was on the phone with her.
- Could you please jot my name and number down and tell her to call me when she is available?
