
Forget + gerund or infintive is very similar to remember + gerund or infintive. So, by learning one, you can apply the same logic to the other.
FORGET + GERUND
Use forget + gerund to
- talk about past events that have happened but that you do not remember
- How can you forget meeting her? (I’m surprised that you do not have any memories of meeting this person)
- She is loosing her memory. She forgets saying things after 5 minutes. (She can not recall what she said 5 minutes ago)
- speak about past events using the negative
- We will never forget living in Mexico those years. (We will always remember that wonderful time)
- I will never forget watching that concert at the Alhambra. It was amazing! (I will always remember the concert)

FORGET + INFINITIVE

Use forget + infinitive to
- talk about things you should have done, but did not do.
- I forgot to write my daughter’s teacher to say she wasn’t going to school today. (I was supposed to write, but I didn’t)
- They forgot to tell Jacob that the meeting was called off and he was waiting for 20 minutes. (They should have contacted Jacob, but they didn’t)
- remind someone to do something
- Don’t forget to tell me what time you are coming home.
- Did you tell them to not forget to be here on time?
